Compass Services for the ACT
Interest in the ACT has been growing rapidly as students realize the advantage of having
an alternative or supplement to the SAT.
Since every Compass program is custom-fit to your needs, we can plot out the best plan for
the ACT, SAT, and Subject Tests (SAT IIs). We can tell you where they overlap and where they don't.
We can explain the important differences between the ACT and SAT. Most important, we won't have you making
any important decisions in a vacuum; if you are interested, we'll provide you with a free practice ACT in
addition to a free practice SAT. While most students score similarly on the SAT and ACT, some students show
a marked preference in score or in comfort level with one exam or the other.
Our one-on-one service means that you can prepare for all 5 components of the ACT (English, Reading,
Math, Science, and the optional Essay) or just the ones where you need help. You are never locked into
a set course structure at Compass and there are no hidden charges. Our current rate for associates is
$130 per hour, and we recommend 90 minutes as the ideal lesson length ($195 per lesson). Your course books,
homework exercises, actual ACT practice tests, in-depth diagnostic test analysis, essay scoring and
comments, director consultations, and anything else we deem essential to raising your score are all
included. You are also welcome to opt-out at any time without any further charges.
You should never confuse Compass' individually tailored approach with a lack of focus. Our advice is
based on over 30 years of experience in working with college admissions tests and we constantly monitor
your progress to ensure that you are getting the maximum benefit from your time and your investment.
Of course the best way to ensure this benefit is to provide you with the highest caliber of instructors.
Compass associates are test prep experts who know how to communicate their knowledge to you. And since
the student always comes first at Compass, the schedule is built around your needs and the associates
come right to your home.
We always look forward to sharing our expertise either in a conversation or in our free
Guide to College Admissions Testing. We'll also be glad to send you a complimentary ACT followed up by an
in-depth analysis of your strengths and weaknesses on each component of the exam.
