Navigating College Admissions Tests

PRESENTED BY COMPASS EDUCATION GROUP

Welcome Tam High!

On January 25th at 6:30pm, parents and students from the class of 2019 and 2020 are invited to attend an on-campus presentation by Compass Director Lia Lackey. Lia will introduce the current landscape of college admission testing. See below for further details.

When students and parents ask me for test prep options, I provide a list. When they ask for recommendations, I provide only one. The directors of Compass are honest, respected, and smart. They are more interested in teaching and guiding than in selling — a refreshing find in test preparation.

Jon Reider, Director of College CounselingSan Francisco University High School

I continually look to Compass to provide the students and parents I work with the proper perspective on testing. As a college counselor who employs a student-centered process, I have found Compass to be well-informed, comprehensive, and engaging to my students' and comforting to their parents.

Cesar Guerrero, Director of College CounselingStuart Hall High School

I only trust Compass to speak to the sophisticated audience at my school about college admissions testing and preparation. Students feel much more at ease and families walk away with real insight into testing.

Krista Klein, Co-Director of College CounselingLick-Wilmerding High School

    HOW DOES IT WORK?

    EVALUATION
Efficient and successful test prep relies on accurate diagnoses. Our practice tests provide a detailed portrait of your testing strengths and weaknesses, allowing us to make recommendations and adjustments tailored to your personal needs.
    RECOMMENDATION
After a thorough assessment of testing data, background, needs, and goals, we develop an individualized plan. Because we do not offer “packages” of lessons, we have the flexibility to craft personalized programs of study that take these nuances into account.
    MATCH
We hold all our instructors to the same high standards, but that doesn’t mean they’re all the same. Your schedule, your learning style, even your outside interests – we consider all these factors in selecting the best instructor for you.
    SUPPORT
Once lessons begin, our instructors and directors work together to monitor your progress and make adjustments until you achieve your score goals. We are never on auto-pilot, and our continued oversight drives the success of our programs.
