Navigating the Evolving Testing Landscape

A VIRTUAL WORKSHOP FOR RISING JUNIORS

DESCRIPTION

As summer nears, many rising junior families are reaching out to us with questions about college admission testing, including:

  • Am I too early (or too late!) to start preparing?
  • When should I take official exams?
  • Which colleges will require test scores for my class year?
  • Should I take the ACT or SAT?
  • Should I prepare for the PSAT?
  • When do most students get their best scores?
  • What do superscoring, self-reporting, and score choice mean?
  • I heard that Illinois is going to require the ACT instead of the SAT for public school students. How does that affect my planning?

To help you approach testing efficiently and knowledgeably, please join the experts at Compass for a pre-summer update on these and other common questions for rising juniors.  Attendees will get a free practice test!

Eric grew up in Chicagoland and graduated Phi Beta Kappa from U of I, where he was the first Rhodes Scholarship campus nominee in nearly a decade. After college, he worked for the Discovery Channel, MTV Networks, Sony Pictures, and YouTube. Between film gigs, Eric joined Compass’s Southern California team as an ACT and SAT math tutor. He enjoyed the one-on-one tutoring experience so much that he made it his mission to bring Compass back to the Midwest. In 2019, Eric returned to his hometown to launch Compass Chicago. Today, Eric mentors a team of dozens of tutors and guides hundreds of families each year through the college admission testing process.
