An SSAT flex test is when a student takes the paper-based test on a non-standard test date. A student may choose to take a flex test for an additional fee once during the testing year (between August 1st and July 31st.)
Taking a flex SSAT is a convenient option for students who may be unavailable on a standard test date or who are more anxious about taking the test. Since flex tests are typically proctored individually or in small groups, students may find the flex test environment more comfortable.
Flex tests are administered by approved independent educational consultants and schools. You must directly contact the consultant or school to register.
You can visit search.ssat.org/test-center-search to review the list of independent educational consultants who host flex tests.
To determine when to get started and what testing plan will work best for you, the best first step is to take a full practice test to have a baseline score. We are happy to schedule a practice test for you, followed by an in-depth director analysis, to help you choose which test dates to target.
