Spence School and Compass Education Group will administer FREE Online Testing Center ACT and SAT diagnostic tests to students in the 10th grade. The test results are invaluable in helping Spence College Counselors and Compass directors craft the ideal testing and tutoring plan for each student. Families are encouraged to schedule a FREE consultation with a Compass Director to review their comprehensive score reports.

We will send you a detailed confirmation email the week of the test. The link to take the test will be included in the confirmation email. You can take the test anytime during the open testing window.
Spence + Nightingale Test Prep Courses
Compass has partnered with Spence and Nightingale-Bamford to provide custom, comprehensive online class options with supplemental 1-on-1 tutoring. Enrollment for the class of 2027 is now open — Spence and Nightingale students have priority registration during this period.
Classes include 20 hours of small group instruction and 3 full-length practice tests and are taught by Compass’ most experienced Math and Verbal tutors.

Can you tell me more about the private tutoring as a class add-on?
- Students enrolled in a group course are eligible for optional supplemental 1-on-1 tutoring sessions after the course ends
- Targeted to your unique needs, these will be customized by Compass for the student ahead of the second official test date
- Additional practice tests also available ahead of your next exam(s) for superscoring.
- Spence Financial Aid applies to one course followed by four optional one-on-one tutoring sessions.
What materials will students receive for the class?
- We will send you full instructions for the online sessions one week before the class begins. Instructional materials (physical coursebooks for each subject) will be mailed to the address you provide during registration.
How do practice tests work?
- ACT students will either complete paper tests using our self-timing videos OR take computer-proctored exams through the Compass Online Testing Center (OTC) at their convenience.
- SAT students will take computer-proctored exams through the Compass Online Testing Center (OTC) or College Board’s Bluebook app at their convenience.
