DESCRIPTION

The PSAT is coming up for Juniors in October. This presentation will introduce you to the test and provide guidance for how the PSAT may serve a good first step into college admissions testing. The presentation will include information on:

  • What is the PSAT & why should I take it?
  • PSAT structure and timing
  • Example Math & Verbal problems
  • Test taking strategies
  • When will I receive my results?
  • What happens after the PSAT?

ABOUT THE SPEAKERS

Alex graduated from Columbia with a B.A. in Evolutionary Biology of the Human Species, and began working in education at zoos, museums, and schools. She started at Compass as a math and science tutor in 2015 and now uses her experience to support tutors and families in her role as Program Manager.
Amira is a Verbal tutor based out of Compass’s Chicago office. Prior to her time at Compass, she privately tutored both high school and college students. Amira also serves on Compass’s DEI Board, contributing through her experiences as a BIPOC, while also providing insight that stems from her background in African-American Studies at Northwestern University.
