DESCRIPTION

Please join 10th grade students and families from The Northwest School for a thoughtful and pragmatic discussion of the college admissions process and college testing. The presenters will provide an overview of the college counseling process at Northwest, as well as national trends in college admissions. Students also will have an opportunity to put their newly-received practice ACT scores in context. This event is recommended for all 10th grade students and families, whether or not you intend to participate in the online proctored practice ACT offered on May 22nd.

ABOUT THE SPEAKERS

After seven years of work in higher education administration, Erin Miller joined the college counseling team at The Northwest School in 2013 and has served as Director of College Counseling since 2015. Throughout her career, Erin has focused on the transition from high school to college and has held roles in first year programs/student orientation, admissions, and international student advising.
(Featured Speaker) Professionally, Matty has a decade of experience in the field of test preparation, having worked as an instructor, consultant, and keynote speaker on the topic of admission testing. Matty and their colleagues at Compass are invited to speak at over 300 high schools and professional organizations each year, where they demystify college admission tests and allay anxiety about the testing process.
