Navigating College Admission Tests

A WEBINAR FOR THE PINE SCHOOL FAMILIES

DATE & TIME

Friday, January 12th, 2024, 9:00 AM

If you were unable to participate in the live webinar, a recording has been posted below.

DESCRIPTION

Starting in the spring of 2024, paper-based administrations of the SAT will be replaced by a shorter, computerized exam. In sharp contrast, the ACT will retain its paper format with significantly more questions.

The introduction of a digital assessment comes at a pivotal moment in today’s admission context. While many schools have retained test-optional policies in the wake of the pandemic, admission offices have demonstrated varying preferences for test scores. Especially among highly selective institutions, applicants with strong scores may be admitted more frequently than those who withhold results.

Hear from the experts at Compass Education Group as they lead a thoughtful and pragmatic discussion of the current testing landscape.

Presentation topics will include:

  • The evolving role of test scores in specific contexts
  • Making sense of the subtlety and variety of testing policies
  • Fresh admissions data from test score submitters and non-submitters
  • Making an informed choice between the ACT and SAT
  • The specs and design of the digital, adaptive PSAT & SAT
  • Optimal timing and smart approaches to test preparation and testing
